Happy Summer! I have had a very busy start to my summer. I started by walking in the Avon 39 Breast Cancer Walk. This is my third year walking 39.3 miles over two days. With travel baseball, we have been able to visit many colleges along the way. With Samantha and Andrew starting their junior year at OPRF, we need to start looking at possible schools for college. We have visited small and large universities and hope to find something just right. :) | Also, this summer I have spent many hours on baseball fields all over the midwest with my son, Andrew. He is a right or centerfielder for the 16U Chicagoland Panthers. The picture is from Grand Park near Indianapolis, Indiana. Andrew also plays for OPRF on their summer team. Lots of baseball! My daughter, Samantha "Samm" has spent her summer lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons at a local pool. She loves working with younger children. |
Finally, my big project this year has been my garden. I have just harvested my first vegetable of the season, a green pepper! I am growing cucumbers, green and red peppers, tomatoes - beefsteak and cherry, eggplant, jalapenos, chives and basil. We are excited to have our own vegetables and watching them grow.
I hope you are all enjoying your break as well. I look forward to seeing all my old and new students in August.
